What is Bama Blitz?

Bama Blitz is an inspiring online fundraising event for alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends to come together and support The University of Alabama. Using the power of social media and crowdfunding, you can give back and pay forward in support of your favorite cause, college or program.

When is Bama Blitz?

Bama Blitz will launch on Tuesday, September 15 at 8:00 a.m. CST and conclude on Thursday, September 17 at 11:59 p.m. CST.

Why should I give during Bama Blitz?

Bama Blitz is an opportunity to show the magnitude a large number of gifts can make on the University. This campaign will bring high energy and excitement to supporting UA and make your gift more immediate, direct and personal. By flooding social media channels with posts about Bama Blitz, your gift will raise awareness and encourage others to join you in support.

Can I designate where my gift goes?

During the event, you can choose the area that means the most to you from the many giving opportunities listed at bamablitz.ua.edu. Whether your heart is with your college or school or you have an interest in a specific research initiative or student program, you are free to choose what your gift supports.

How can I help Bama Blitz?

You can help increase the impact we make with Bama Blitz! Use your social media channels to bring awareness to this event using #bamablitz. And make your gift on September 15 at bamablitz.ua.edu.

 

Who can contribute to Bama Blitz?

Anyone! Contributions to projects can be made to any individual or organization inside or outside of the UA community.

How do I contribute to Bama Blitz?

Go to bamablitz.ua.edu and choose the passion project of your choice.

Does Bama Blitz store my credit card information? 

No, we will not store any payment or credit card information.

Is my contribution tax-deductible? 

Yes, contributions through UA’s crowdfunding platform support specific areas of the university and are therefore eligible for income tax deductions as allowed by law.

Is my gift eligible for employer/corporate matching?

Yes. However, it can take several weeks for employers’ matching funds to reach the UA. In the event the match does not arrive before the project deadline, it will be applied to the respective club or organization’s account for future projects.

What methods of payment are accepted?

All major credit cards are accepted (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover).

When will my credit card be charged?

Your credit card will be charged immediately upon finalizing your gift on the website.

Will I receive a receipt for my donation?

Yes, The University of Alabama will send you a gift receipt via email for tax purposes.

Note: The charge may appear as "UA Advance" on your statement.

I don't see my preferred gift designation. What should I do?

Choose "Other" under the fund designation and enter the fund where you would like your gift to be designated.
