Theatre and Dance Virtual Season

For the 20-21 season, the department of Theatre and Dance has opted to produce a virtual season in lieu of live performances out of concern for the health and safety of our students and the community. The upcoming season will consist of four theatre productions and five dance concerts. Though this will result in lost revenue generated through ticket sales and higher production costs, the Theatre and Dance Department aims to mount quality productions and fund research and educational opportunities for our students with the resources available. This new process will also enable students to work with more technology and film which will prepare them for diverse work they will encounter as professionals in the field. In addition, a virtual dissemination of the performances will not only increase exposure of the theatre and dance programs, it will increase accessibility to this type of performing art to many underserved communities.

This time of fewer in-person events is particularly challenging for the arts. The department of Theatre and Dance has risen to the challenge but we need your help to provide new learning opportunities for our students and increase access to our performances to the UA community. We hope to raise $30,000 in support of these efforts. Even during these times, the show must go on.
