One of the goals of the Capstone Education Society (or College of Education Fund) is to raise scholarship money for students who need a helping hand. As one of our foundations is developing first-rate teachers, we need to have more scholarships to encourage teachers to take appointments in areas where fully certified teachers are critically low, or for that matter, to replace the numbers of retirees and those who have exited the teaching profession over the past 20 months.
To recruit new teachers, we need to 1) recruit them right out of high school; 2) be able to help out when we can (academically, emotionally, and financially); and 3) mentor them in school and beyond.
It takes all of us: faculty, staff, and alums, to raise a confident teacher and support them along the way. Please consider financially supporting the next generation of educators.
