Alumni with graduate degrees become leaders throughout society. UA’s graduate alumni provide leadership for our nation’s colleges and universities, local/state/federal government, non-profit organizations, research-focused organizations, and many other professional arenas. Current graduate students may find career exploration daunting – especially if they intend to explore non-academic fields. The Graduate School will partner with the Career Center to establish a virtual Graduate Career Development series of workshops for graduate students exploring non-academic careers. The series will engage expert speakers, trainers, and workshop leaders for virtual workshops three times per semester. It will also help to connect students to internship and project-management experiences that both enhance their academic pursuits and prepare them to be competitive for those future positions. The virtual format will not only allow continuity during the current circumstances but also facilitate the involvement of Distance Learning students.
