Our HES Bama Blitz passion project will support students within the College of Human Environmental Sciences who are completing required or recommended internship opportunities. On average, HES students complete over 150,000 hours annually in either internship or practicum experiences across the country. Experiential learning opportunities like these are woven throughout all of our majors in the College of HES. It’s why our students leave the institution prepared for their careers, with not only classroom knowledge, but the hands-on experiences they acquired in these placements.
Funding for the HES Experiential Learning Endowed Support Fund will help to provide financial assistance to students in low-paying or volunteer internships. This funding can be used to offset various expenses that students encumber while participating in these learning experiences. Examples include research projects, transportation and alternative living expenses away from campus.
Our goal is to grow the fund so that HES students can benefit from this initiative for years to come.
We want every student who graduates from the College of Human Environmental Sciences to be equipped with the knowledge, opportunities, and skills to be leaders in their respective fields. Supporting the Experiential Learning Endowed Support Fund in the College of HES is a gift to current and future generations of HES students who take part in these opportunities in our College.
