The Million Dollar Band has been a Crimson Tide tradition for over 100 years. It is easily the largest student organization on campus with participants majoring in almost every college and department within the University. They have performed all over the country during their storied career and now they have an opportunity to add to that list. For the first time ever, the Million Dollar Band has been invited to participate in an American tradition, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. In November 2021, the Million Dollar Band will be marching down Central Park West in New York City playing Yea Alabama! for everyone to hear.
The University of Alabama and the College of Arts and Sciences are extremely excited and honored to be a part of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the 400 members of the Million Dollar Band. The costs associated with this trip are high and while a large portion of that cost will be covered by the University, some will be passed on to the individual band members.
Our goal is to raise $50,000. This year, your Bama Blitz donation to the Million Dollar Band will help alleviate the costs to each individual band member. Their hard work and dedication have made this opportunity possible and we don’t want any of them to miss this chance to participate in an American tradition because the cost is prohibitive.
