"While taking classes abroad, I was able to learn alongside students from dozens of different cultures that were from countries that maybe look at business differently than America. I now would like to think that I realize even more how every country operates differently, and it only does us a disservice to think that they do not. It’s important to look at the big picture of everything in business, and studying abroad really honed in that thought for me."
Allison Pack, Digital Group Assistant, Brand Consulting at Creative Artists Agency, who studied abroad in Rome, Italy in spring 2019.
A journey abroad to study can be a singularly transformative event for a Culverhouse College of Business student, exposing them to new cultures and new ways of thinking about the world. Students that have participated in study abroad have detailed how their experiences shaped their outlook on work and life itself – and opened new doors of opportunity.
“Study abroad was paramount to my understanding of the world and the way businesses operate. In school I was taught a great deal about how a supply chain works, but while on study abroad I was able to see how a supply chain works in action.”
Jennifer Nunnelly, Instructor of Operations Management at Culverhouse, who studied abroad in Ireland, Germany, and Turkey.
Our Bama Blitz passion project for 2022 is to help defray the cost of the study abroad experience for more of our students, especially those who are first-generation, have financial constraints, or have never been abroad.
Your generosity can and will support the cost of airfare, lodging, visas, and other expenses related to travel in the pursuit of professional and academic growth for these students.
With the lifting of travel restrictions, our goal at Culverhouse is to help more students fulfill their study abroad ambitions.
Be a part of our effort to ensure that more students can take part in a study abroad journey – make your Bama Blitz gift now.
