Since spring of 2020, we have all been challenged to adjust to living amid a global pandemic. For many of our students, pandemic related challenges have threatened their ability to obtain their nursing degrees. From facing financial hurdles, to stepping into the trenches for experiential learning, nursing students have bravely confronted incredible stressors at a time when nurses are needed most.
Many CCN students across degree programs have continued to work in health care while also carrying a full academic load in pursuit of their degrees. It has taken immense courage for nursing students to stay the course in the face of these trials.
Work-related exposures and illnesses, loss of income for our students and their family members, and unanticipated child care expenses due to school closures are just a few examples of the obstacles our students have faced, and continue to face, as a result of the pandemic. Although some resources were made available to address these needs, we continue to see CCN students struggle physically, emotionally, and financially due to unique pandemic-related challenges.
Your contribution to the Capstone College of Nursing Student Pandemic Relief Fund will support nursing students facing pandemic-related financial challenges, easing that burden and allowing them to return focus to their studies.
